British model and activist Adwoa Aboah serves up vintage dreams for Vogue UK’s first issue since Edward Enninful became the first black male to serve as its editor-in-chief. The beauty is styled by Edward, himself, with legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath creating a gorgeous palette of shimmery eyes and glossy lips.
The BBC reports that the glossy will feature a 14-page spread featuring Adwoa along with an interview between the two on diversity in fashion and being black and British in 2017.
The new issue also celebrates Edward’s new vision for the magazine. “My Vogue is about being inclusive,” he told BBC. “It is about diversity – showing different women, different body shapes, different races, different classes [and] tackling gender. You are going to see all different colours, shapes, ages, genders, religions. That I am very excited about.” He also said that readers would see “less models that don’t look so healthy”.
The glossy, which hits stands until Friday, is already gaining rave reviews and been deemed an “instant classic”. Press play below to get a behind-the-scenes look into the new issue.
