How To Get Skylar Diggins’ Easy Breezy Slay

WNBA baller Skylar Diggins is an all-around stunner. With her “beauty and the beast” mantra, the Puma brand ambassador effortlessly goes from driving plays on the court to slaying red carpets. The beauty tends to rock her natural curls or blown out sleek buns, so we love when changes it up a bit. 

Here, she rocks a simple cornrows and curls look for effortless slay created by stylist Monaè Everett. We caught up with Monaè for details on the chic look.

Using a natural bristle round brush, Monaè blew out Skylar’s hair using a leave-in conditioner (Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in Conditioner, $5.99), mousse (Aphogee Style and Wrap Mousse, $7.45) and hydrating oil (Bumble and Bumble Dry Oil, $34). She then trimmed and vertically curled Skylar’s hair with a 1.5″ curling iron and clipped to set. Next, she parted her hair in a triangular section in the front right section of the head and divide in half for two cornrows. To finish, she unclipped curls and set with FHI Heat Stylus Shine Express Instant Shine Mist ($18) and Oribe Superfine Strong Hairspray ($38) for brushable hold and shine.

Tip #1: Accessorize! Monaè used multi-colored bobby pins to add a bit of color. You can also add gold cuffs or other fun accessories. o stay on trend, the braids are secured with multicolored Bobby pins.

Tip #2: This look works great on textured tresses, as well, so don’t be afraid to play up kinks and coils!
