Hype Hair: Which celebrity is your dream client to create a custom look for?
Cliff VMir: I would of course love to work with more A-list celebs such as Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj and Kim Kardashian.

HH: Besides your hair expertise, we see that you do not play any games in the makeup department. What are some of your favorite beauty techniques?
CV: First, I want to say this: You can never let anyone else’s opinion matter to you. You have to feel strong about anything you do. Sometimes, I wake up and say I want a full glamorous face, I want to put Hollywood waves in my unit, I want to pop it on and go somewhere, and I want to be seen. Sometimes, I want a dark smokey eye. It depends on my mood. When I’m going to meetings, I want to keep it very cute with a natural sharp beat, highlight, contour and nice fluffy mink lashes. When I do photo shoots, I like to smoke it out and get real dramatic with it.

Hype Hair: What are some of your go-to makeup products for achieving a flawless beat?
CV: One of my close friends actually has a lash line called Lashed&Luxury. She sells the most beautiful mink lashes ever and I can’t stop wearing them. She has various styles and I find myself wearing a different pair everyday. I absolutely love Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty foundation. That girl knew what she was doing by making that foundation, Because I have very oily skin, I have to look at myself in the mirror like ‘Oh my god I look so fake, but in a good way.’ I see no bumps o pores no nothing. I love it!

HH: We see that you are booked and busy working with celebs such as Cardi B and Blac Chyna. What are some other projects that you are currently working on?
CV: It’s a show for entrepreneurs in the beauty industry. It shows how we slay the game, how we go through problems, and how we face and overcome our battles. Slay The Game based in Atlanta for young entrepreneurs. This is the beauty industry’s version of Love and Hip Hop.

HH:  Where do you see your brand going in the next 3-5 years?
CV: Honestly, I feel like the Instagram videos were a major win for me. I feel like I was one of the originals using Instagram videos for popularity. When I first started out there was not too many people doing them. I feel like they are getting a little bit boring to me. I’m not saying that doing hair is getting boring to me, but I am ready to experience something different. A lot of people always say Cliff you are a character; you have a personality on you.

For instance, when I do Joseline’s hair, she’s very spicy and there are times we joke back and forth with each other. A lot of people tell me that I should be on TV and I kind of want to explore those projects. I would love the opportunity to work with Mona Scott Young. That would be really huge because I feel that a lot of young entrepreneurs should see the day in the life a young black gay male. I’m young so sometimes when you’re young you find yourself trying to find the best way to handle situations. Sometimes I find myself snapping out, but I just feel like people need to see. It’s more of a learning experience for others and myself. And, I feel like me being on TV will inspire people. But other than that, I would say I did pretty much everything I wanted to do.
