Ballerina and author Misty Copeland has been inspiring young girls (and women) in every facet of life – from beauty and body to dance and beating the odds – since she took her first twirl. Now, the history-making prima ballerina is adding fragrance to her inspo list as the newest face of Estée Lauder’s Modern Muse fragrance.

As the new global spokesmodel, she will front the fragrance’s campaign series doing what she does best: teaching and inspiring while being her most beautiful self.

“I am so honored to represent Estée Lauder Modern Muse,” said Misty in a statement. “My two passions are dance and giving back, and I love passing on knowledge to the next generation. I also have a strong connection to the scents I wear when I perform. The Modern Muse campaign is the perfect way to see another side of my story.”

“Misty is the perfect representation of today’s modern muse,” said Aerin Lauder, style and image director. “She is all about feminine strength, power, dedication and passion, and you see that in what she does every day, whether she is performing or inspiring the next generation of dancers.”

Stephane de La Faverie, Estée Lauder’s global brand president, added, “Misty has challenged the status quo to achieve her dreams and inspired so many young women along the way. Misty will bring the fragrance concept to life through her unique story.”

What does being feminine mean to Misty? “Being feminine is owning who you are as a woman, whatever that may be. I feel like my strength makes me feminine,” she said. “My grace as a ballerina makes me feminine. My perseverance and unwillingness to give up makes me feminine.”
