From her anthemic A Seat At The Table to her unapologetic style, Solange continues to be our poster woman for everything empowering and all-natural. The alt R&B singer is absolutely ethereal in her cover spread for Teen Vogue’s three-cover music issue. She shines in a series of all-white ensembles while rocking her natural tresses in pulled back and tousled looks styled by Jawara.

Inside, she takes her glow-up to the next level with an inspiring letter she wrote to her 17-year-old self. It starts off “there will be fear. a lot of it. there will be triumph” and touches on everything from learning to not only love herself to but how to ask for help and becoming a teenage mom to overcoming the loss of her best friend and discovering who she is.

“there will be pain, there will be doubt there will be beauty, there will be the unknown. there will be so many moments of joy and delight that the whole universe will feel painted in hues of amber and wonder,” wrote Solange. “there will be times you are so sad you can’t lift your head. and there will be times you are so happy that the sensation of life knocks you down. but most importantly, there will be you. a whole, whole lot of it. and you will feel good about who she is and who she is still becoming.”
