From Hollywood hit girl to full-fledged It Girl, Vivica Fox is one of the most recognizable actresses in Tinseltown. And with a lengthy portfolio of roles, including Independence Day: Resurgence and Empire, she is the epitome of a multifaceted, fearless black woman. And the industry veteran has no plans on slowing down anytime soon. She recently premiered her Lifetime show, Vivica’s Black Magic in which she auditioned hundreds of men for a coveted spot on in her latest new business venture, Black Magic. Vivica will also star as the first black female president of the United States in the upcoming film Crossbreed which is centered on a group of military war heroes.
As the face of her own hair collection, the Vivica Fox Collection, Vivica keeps her hair and beauty regimen on point. We recently caught up with this amazing lady to get some intel on how stays so beautiful – and her go-to products.
Hype Hair: Your hair always looks flawless. What are some of your favorite hairstyles?
Vivica Fox: My favorite hairstyle is the sleek, sexy bang look—which has made a major comeback! This chic style can be worn with a long, straight ’do or with a simple ponytail or topknot. My Vivica Fox Hair Collection has a fabulous new Bang N’ Ponytail combo that’s affordable and easy to style!
HH: In order to slay like you do with your fabulous hair, you must have some hair product favorites. What are they?
VF: My favorite shampoo and conditioner is Tea Tree with Rosemary by Paul Mitchell. It’s super conditioning, and it pairs well with a natural eucalyptus and lemongrass oil for my scalp.
HH: We know you are an advocate for healthy hair. Can you share some tips with us?
VF: In order to maintain strong, healthy hair, I recommend braiding your hair down when rocking fun styles—no need to kill your hair by over-processing it! On my lazy days, I love to condition my hair with hot oil treatments or with hair masks from Carol’s Daughter.
HH: What are some of your go-to products for a perfect face on and off of the red carpet?
VF: My holy grail makeup line is MAC, specifically the Studio Fix liquid foundations and pressed powders, and Chanel and Dior for my eyeshadow and mascara.
HH: Can you share your top beauty tips?
VF: Hydrate, hydrate! Be sure to drink plenty of lemon water! Get microdermabrasion or an oxygen facial once a month, and use a hydrating toner…try the Shu Uemura brand; I love the rosewater spray. And Dermalogica active moisturizer for glowing skin. I also recommend Smith’s Moca Rose lip balm for luscious lips!
