Here Are All The Deets On Taraji P. Henson’s Edgy Bob Slay At The SAG Awards

Taraji P. Henson was the absolute belle of the ball at Sunday night’s SAG Awards. The Hidden Figures may have stolen the red carpet in a daring sheer Reem Acra princess gown, but it was her edged up new bob that had us swooning.

Taraji has been slaying bobs since she first hit the scene, but this may be her edgiest bob moment yet. The man behind her mane, Tym Wallace, said her amazing look was inspired by the diva herself.  “When thinking about Taraji’s look, I wanted to focus on her inner beauty and personality,” he said. “Her versatility and command of any screen translates – from Empire’s ‘Cookie Lyons’ to Hidden Figures’ ‘Katherine Johnson’.”

Tym also dished on his styling process to create the fab ‘do. To get the look, Tym first washed and prepped Taraji’s hair with L’Oréal Paris Sulfate-Free shampoo and conditioner and followed up with It’s A 10 Leave-in Miracle Product, which also works as a heat protectant. He then sectioned and blowdried her hair with a Dyson Supersonic hair dryer.

Next, came Tym’s cutting magic, where he shaved the side and etched in a few lines. He also added custom-colored Indique hair extensions for extra volume and flair, he . To style, he created large waves using a ceramic styling iron and small brush and pinned her tresses back to showcase her shaved edge. He finished off the look with ORIBE Apres Beach Wave and Shine spray and Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong.
