Taraji P. Henson is giving us hair life once again with her latest mane move for W Magazine. The Hidden Figures actress debuted a new curly look for the glossy’s issue celebrating female empowerment on the screen.
Her new ‘do was created by Orlando Pita, with strategically wanded black tresses finished off with curly tendril set perfectly center. The look is a definite departure from her normally sleek or beachy wave bobs and not one we’ve ever seen on the diva before.

She completed the look in a white Monse button-up and black La Perla lace bra. Inside, she talks about the irony of her Hidden Figures role as NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson:
“I’m a pretty good actress. You could say that, right? Well, to play Katherine Johnson, a mathematician who figured out a way to get NASA astronauts into space, I had to be believable as a math expert—and I failed math in college. Precalculus looked like Chinese to me. Even with two tutors, I still failed. So God has an incredible sense of humor, because now I am playing a mathematician! Even on set, they would have a professor there to try and teach me. I said, ‘Show me what I have to write and I’ll memorize it, because I’m not gonna get it.’ Take that, math! I won: I became an actress.”
