All 51 of Victoria’s Secret angels will be showing off their natural tresses as they stomp the lingerie brand’s annual fashion show. The move comes after Maria Borges made history by rocking her teenie weenie afro for the show. Each model gets to define their beauty on their own terms, whether it’s long and wavy or short and curly.
“The whole goal of the show is to enhance everyone’s natural beauty,” revealed hairstylist Sarah Potempa in an exclusive Facebook Live with Refinery 29. While the show’s signature look is all about waves, Sarah said the stylists are going to have a more carefree approach to their length and curl.
“We’re going to have some women that have shorter hair, maybe a lob. We’re not going to add extensions to make it look super long,” said Sarah. “We’re actually going to embrace that lob. And, if someone has short hair on the side or a really tight haircut, we’re not gonna put a wig on we’re not gonna put extensions and glue it to their head. We’re gonna embrace it. There are 51 women, and we want them them feel their most beautiful.”
Models rocking their natural texture has become more and more common on the runway as of late. Kudos to Victoria’s Secret for getting in on the action. We can’t wait to see all of the looks when the show airs December 5 on CBS at 10pm.
