Girl group Blush is well poised to become one the biggest hip-hop trios ever. The group, comprised of Texas natives Sunni, Tali and Bunni Ray, are managed by Matthew Knowles, the mastermind behind the group Destiny’s Child. Their latest single Old School Back is already garnering major buzz for these exceptionally talented young ladies.

We caught up with the ladies after our exclusive Hype Hair photo shoot for a chat about the new music they are working on for their debut album, their upcoming reality television show, and their top hair and beauty secrets!

Hype Hair: Can you share a little background about yourselves and how you came to form the group, Blush?
Blush: It all started with Sunni, who originally started writing poetry in fourth grade. Then, in seventh grade she started turning poetry into lyrical verses. Sunni is also the founder of Blush, which originally started seven years ago with two female rappers searching for a vocalist to complete a never-before done hip hop trio. Sunni searched and found vocalist Tali from Facebook.

Once Tali entered the group we officially became Blush. Tali has been singing since the age of three and the first song she ever sung was Michael Jackson’s “You Are Not Alone.” She comes from a musical home and background: her mother, brothers and sisters were part of a band and during holidays would all come together as a family to sing and dance. She entered the group while still in school. Once she joined the group she was entrusted with the creative side of the project including music and choreography.

Five years after signing with Mr. Knowles, we had a group member change and found Bunni Ray on Instagram. Bunni is a Houston, Texas native born and raised. Her love for music came from freestyling with her brother and sisters at home. We welcomed Bunni with open arms and view her as a sister.
