Ciara stunned in sliver on the 2016 Met Gala red carpet in futuristic retro style. Draped in a silver illusion dress and smokey eye, her go-to hairstylist César Ramirez created show-stopping 1920’s inspired finger waves on a custom silver bob unit.

“For Ciara’s look I really wanted to play up the futuristic theme of “Manus x Machina” while still keeping a soft and sexy feel,” said Ramirez, Global Artistic Director for MIZANI.  He described her glam mane as a swept back silver metallic finger wave, coiled and twisted and adorned with an artistic arrangement of pins.

To get the look, Ramirez first prepped the custom-colored unit with Mizani True Textures Style Refresher Milk and dried the hair. He then iron curled and set her hair in pin clips.

“I allowed my set to cool before removing my clips and brushing everything with Mizani HRM Spray to begin my dry finger wave.”

Next, he sculpted each wave and secured with multiple silver bobby pins. For the back, he took each set curl and silver bobby pinned the coils into a retro pin curl set.”

We loved the finished look which Ramirez said took a couple of hours to complete, “from setting the hair to pinning to finishing touches.”
