Lupita Nyong’o has already won best magazine cover of 2016 for serving black girl magic on ESSENCE Magazine’s January issue. From her “goddess glow” to her arms so nicely toned they’ll make you want to actually stick to your fitness resolutions next year. Greg Lotus captured the cover shot of the 32-year-old actress who is wearing a strapless sparkling champagne colored dress.
For the spread the Oscar award winner talks about losing herself in her rise to stardom.
“After 12 Years a Slave and the quote-unquote meteoric rise, I felt like there was a moment where I was suffering from whiplash. I had talked so much about who I was that I’d forgotten who I was.”
Her TWA was styled in a side-part by Larry Sims and makeup artist Nick Barose created a barely there look which allowed the actress’ natural glow to shine through.
Nyong’o will be making her big screen comeback after a short hiatus in the highly anticipated series Star Wars: The Force Awakens which premieres in theaters on December 18th.
