Film goddess Ava DuVernay is representing all things beautiful and powerful on the cover of ELLE magazine’s November 2015. DuVernay graces one of eight covers shot by Paola Kudacki for the magazine’s annual “Women in Hollywood” glossy.
The former PR strategist slays in a winter-white silk Calvin Klein dress and Balmain earrings, perfectly styled with side-swept locs, smokey eye and nude lip. She’s also commanding the attention of Hollywood with her daring and poignant representations of both iconic and everyday figures.
Inside the issue, which hits newsstands next week, ELLE writes:
For years, Ava DuVernay made small but affecting, insider-beloved films. Then came Selma: the movie that landed her in the center of a Hollywood hailstorm, and on a very short list of the most important directors of her generation.
