The Hunger Games actress Amandla Stenberg has snagged a pretty prolific and groundbreaking cover on Dazed Magazine’s Fall 2015 issue titled, “The New Agenda.” Alongside the outspoken 16-year-old, Dazed featured eccentric Atlanta rapper Young Thug, who fearlessly rocks a dress and tutu inside the issue.
Fittingly, Stenberg earned this cover. The striking cover captures a profile shot of her with the motivating and empowering words of Angela Davis written across her face–the word freedom stands out boldly–as her #BlackGirlMagic captivates all. In the recent months the teenage actress has been very vocal about appropriation of black culture, even calling out to Kylie Jenner’s cornrowed ‘do.

In the cover story, Stenberg talks about just how wise teens can truly be and her thoughts on those that discredit her generation. She also spoke on her upbringing in the Agape church and using social media platforms like Twitter and Tumblr to advocate for things she wholeheartedly believes in.
“I want to make things that have an impact on how we look at the world,” she told Dazed. “I know it’s a tall glass to fill, but it’s a glass that really does need to be filled, as an African American woman.”
