African Hair Braiding 101: Everything You Need To Know Before You Go

2. Go with clean and dry hair.

This may seem like a no-brainer to regulars, but you’d be surprised. Unless requested, and the salon is set up for it, your braider is not washing your hair prior to braiding, twisting or weaving. And, it’s never a good idea to cover up a dirty scalp for weeks on end. Plus, your braider just might be grossed out parting her way through dandruff and product build-up. Ewww.
