1. Speak up.
It happens to the best of us. Honestly, something as speaking your mind would be innate but many of us don’t. I myself, am guilty of not saying the foundation braids of my weave are too tight or that I’d like looser braids around my nape and hair line. At the end of the day, it’s your hair and you’re paying for it. Speak up or pay the dreadful price of hair loss later on.
2. Treat your weave as if it were your own hair.
Many times we neglect caring for weave because it’s not our “own” hair. Sure, we paid for it, but it’s not coming out of our scalp. Wrong theory, ladies! Lack of maintenance (washing, oiling scalp, etc) is one of the biggest factors that leads to breakage. A dirty and dry scalp is the quickest way to garner unwanted trauma.
