8 Times Magazines Were Guilty of Trying to Turn Black Trends White


It seems that PWPs (predominately white publications) don’t want to give credit where it’s due. Instead, they often ignore the many fashion and hair trends black people have created until a white person makes it acceptable.

The fashion big names are doing to black culture of hair and fashion what they did to Rock and Roll and Blues—putting a white man on the forefront and calling it new and hip.

Brands like Lucky, Vogue, Marie Claire, etc, are constantly praising these styles that have been around for generations as if they are new. Why? Because they have been appropriated by the “more acceptable” race. And, thanks to these big name brands, they are spreading false entitlement of styles to the masses.
