The 411 On Getting and Maintaining Faux Locs

faux locs - hypehair Hype Hair: On average, how many packs of hair do you need for the look?
Shelly Marshall: On average, you may need between 9-13 packs of hair to complete this look. I recommend to get 13 packs just in case you run out of hair.

HH: How long would you recommend keeping this style in?
SM: Usually people keep this in for at least one month. This style can stay in for a long time. I recommend after five to six weeks to get your hair re-twisted. After you have re-twisted your hair twice (15 weeks to 24 weeks), I recommend you take the style out and completely redo it if you deem it necessary.

HH: What is the maintenance/upkeep for this style?
There isn’t much maintenance for this style. Make sure to keep your scalp moisturized. Keep a look out for dust or lint that might get on each dread. If you like, make sure to oil your locs at least once every two weeks for shine.

HH: How can you protect this style at night?
SM: To keep the locs looking fresh, I recommend wearing a bonnet every night. You can keep the hair down in your bonnet or up in a high bun.
