When it comes to hair products I’m fairly frugal, but one product in particular has made me have a change of heart.
After dying my new extensions my favorite shade of jet black, I noticed that my Brazilian hair was a bit drier than normal. I did my best to deep condition it, co-wash it, and even slapped some Silicon Mix on it for hopes of a perfect blow-out that was voluminous and shiny. But still, my virgin tresses were a bit too dull looking for my liking.
So in the words of Project Runway’s Tim Gunn I “make it work,” which meant slapping some vitamin E oil on my hair and calling it a day.
A few days after my hair dying incident I found myself randomly rummaging through the racks of my local TJ Maxx, known for having damn near anything and everything you could possibly imagine of from shoes to shower caddies, soap, and of course that notoriously low price aisle tucked in the corner of luxe beauty and hair care products. From Shiseido to Chi, the hidden gem is a frugalista’s haven. And after testing out every hand soap in sight to kill some time, I came across what my hair needed: a bottle of Biosilk Silk Therapy Serum.
