This updo is perfect for a curly set that is a few days old. Start by using a shine or silkening product to calm frizz and flyaways like Heat Defense Smooth & Shine Polisher.
Next make your middle part with a rat tail comb then take large sections and slightly flat iron the roots of each section adding a slight bump. To make this task easy, use a crescent moon shape flatiron like the HAI eLite Tong Ionic Iron. Finger through hair and curls gently pulling hair into a loose low ponytail in the back of your head. Slightly brush down roots toward the back ponytail to smooth if needed.
Pull curl tendrils from ponytail on the sides for face framing. Using U-shaped hair pins, pin curls in small groups around your ponytail holder to make your bun. If you desire more body in your bun, separate curls to make them fuller before pinning.
To add even more body, add clip in extensions before putting hair into ponytail. You will need to cut extensions to desired length and curl them to match your curls. To make sure that clip-ins are secure, backcomb a section of the hair before clipping them in.
After pinning curls into bun, spray hair with a finishing hair spray like TRES Two Ultra Fine Mist Hair Spray.
Love Zoe’s lashes as much as I do? Double up on your mascara application! This is what I do. First I apply a coat of Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening Mascara concentrating on the root of the lashes and let it dry. Follow up with Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara concentrating on the tips of the lashes.
Repeat until you reach your desired thickness.
