Celebrity Hairstylist Gabrielle Corney Talks Carol’s Daughter Cupuacu Collection and 2014 Hair Trends

gabrielle-corney-hypehairBeing a celebrity hairstylist isn’t necessarily a thankless jobs. As the creators of styles we adore, these hair mavens are constantly praised for their ability to construct inspiring ‘dos on today’s favorite stars, armed with hair products we must have. Case in point: celebrity hairstylist Gabrielle Corney.

By 19, the New York native was working professionally, starting her journey at Vidal Sassoon and eventually combing her way to working with big names like Aaliyah, Ginuwine and Allure. Now a consultant, on-screen stylist and self-proclaimed superfan of Carol’s Daughter, Corney also finds her hands skillfully playing in the heads of reality TV’s most visible stars – Kandi Burruss, Tahiry José, Porsha Stewart and Denise Vasi.

Although the mother of two is heavily in demand, she does admit her hairstyling journey started by accident. “When I was a kid, I wanted to be a racecar driver, run away with the circus or be a forensic pathologist,” she recalls. ” One of my girl friends had a bad set of extensions put in, and every time I would hang with her, she was asking me to put one of her braids back in. Once I discovered I could put extensions in, I was hooked.”
